The Surroundings
Celle Ligure
Celle is a small town by the Mediterranean Sea, on the western side of the Riviera Ligure. Its two huge sandy beaches are surrounded by green, lush hills offering a magical view of the Riviera from La Spezia to Capo Noli. Celle is divided into two neighbourhoods: the trendy and modern “Piani”, with its sport facilities and elegant villas, and, towards Savona, the old fishermen’s village, with its narrow, shady streets called “caruggi” and the colourful traditional houses overlooking the promenade and the beach.
A long verdant promenade links I Piani with the historical centre, while another traditional trail, the old Via Romana, skirts the promontory of La Crocetta. Numerous other short tracks called “creuse” will lead you to explore the nearby inner country-side, discover magical pinewoods, abandoned villages and ruins or simply enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the whole Riviera. The extraordinarily mild climate and the vast sandy beaches have led Celle to develop a strong vocation for tourism, testified by numerous awards such as the well-known Blue Fee Flag Celle has been awarded for thirteen years running. Lately achieved UNI EN ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications highlight the utmost care shown towards environmental politics and make Celle the ideal holiday resort for families and children.
